Oil On Beaches Article

The spill of oil in the gulf ciast appears to be gone.  Less than a foot under the surface of the sand lies oil.  The oil under the sand is expected to never completely go away.  This is thought because the bacteria that would get rid of the oil is not getting enough oxygen.  Also, oil that was spilled over twenty-one years ago in Alaska still remains submerged in the sand.

  1. This is a interesting article which identifies the difficulty of cleaning the spilled oil from our oceans. Great Job!
