This article is about the opening of the Northwest Passage. The Northwest Passage has not been open since we started the statellite pictures in 1978. It's open because the arctic ice is melting. Also, many countries want to own this land now that it is accessible to ships.
Thats interesting, but who's land is it on? The US's land or Canada's.
